ACC students should definitely take advantage of this opportunity.>>I mean even outside of getting better at another language, the experience of going in and being able to like dig deep within a culture is a unique one.>>I really liked that I was able to learn and travel. It’s better than a tour guide.>>Going to Manuel Antonio, the national forest, and just being in that area for a weekend was pretty amazing.>>We went to Florence and we went inside Brunelleschi’s dome. It was unreal. I don’t even know how to describe it.>>There was certainly some apprehension on the front end of cost or taking time off work.>>I support myself, I work full-time, and I go to school full-time. So that really was a bunch of triggers for me saying: “You can’t do this. You can’t afford this.”>>Take everybody’s advice on the scholarship opportunities because they’re super evident and real and pretty achievable. For me the experience was definitely worth an investment.>>I have so much more creative force and ability to see opportunity and see possibility. So If I had stayed in my frame of mind that my funds were limited, that would have just kept me in that cycle of limitation.>>I’d say maybe the biggest way it’s impacted my goals or my life…just getting to know the culture more and being around people; that really helped me see the world differently.>>It gave me a new purpose in my studies and in my career.>>It certainly made me more confident about the next level of Spanish, which will be four for me. So much so that I’m pretty confident about double- majoring in whatever I end up studying which will be something in the medical field.>>It was a life-changing, priceless experience. I could not put a dollar sign on it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you’ll probably never do for yourself if you don’t jump on a program that’s a little bit guided and structural. >>I think that the entire experience of the people I was with, the things that I learned there…I think everything will stick with me and it’s just something that I could never forget about.
