My name is Tracey Wik. I am the instructor for KM 630, Information Needs for Knowledge Managers. This is the second time that I’ll be teaching this course. And, I want to let you know that I am excited to meet all of you virtually. We will be reading some of the seminal literature on Management Theory as well as Organizational Development, and bleeding into best practices on the role that connectivity plays in how people learn. But, the literature is really not the point of the course. What I’m passionate about is creating a collaborative community where we learn together. So, what you can count on me for is to facilitate the discussion. Not so much as an expert but, really, in partnership with you to discover new ideas that are relevant to our own practice. Whether that’s part of your day job or if you are out to develop a whole new area for yourself. It’s really about how you can the gain the skills to be an excellent KM practitioner and consultant to organizations, regardless of where you end up. I want to also let you know. If you have any questions, I’m available for you. And, I’m looking forward to what we can create over the next semester.
